Meet DT
Hard hats and big ideas
D'Tara "DT" Frank is a construction manager, children's author, and nonprofit founder. She builds large industrial projects by day and writes books that help kids see where they fit in building the future.
Why she writes
DT's background is in civil engineering and construction management. Her projects span clean energy, carbon reduction, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and commercial development. She holds a degree in civil engineering and an MBA with a focus on project management.
For years she was one of the only women in the room on large construction projects. Her first book was written so girls could see themselves in that room. Her second is for every kid who loves to ask how things work, and for every kid who hasn't yet pictured themselves designing the future with technology, clean energy, smart buildings, and big ideas.
She serves on the Executive Committee of the Construction Industry Institute and is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction. She is a proud mom, and her son reminds her every day to keep noticing the world with curiosity.

The Each One Teach One Foundation
DT founded the Each One Teach One Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers young people through scholarships, mentoring, STEM and career exploration, leadership sessions, and community service.
The foundation awarded its first scholarship in 2024 and is expanding its scholarship program. It is a separate organization from the books.
